      1. There is value in being able to reference items that are relevant to your students. It could help build stronger relationships and bridge the gap. Examples include music, movies, television, personalities.
    2. Create and update livebinders
      1. This would be an ongoing resource to update and share with students both for organization and as a study guide.
    3. Use and share Nearpod presentations
      1. This is a new technology for me but I already see the value in it to allow students to review material at their own pace as well as incorporate many different types of media.
    4. Fully utilize smart boards
      1. I am not familiar with this technology but I know it is available in many schools and that often it is not utilized to its full potential. I would like to feel comfortable with all of its capabilities.

    1. Learn new technologies
      1. Identify new technologies that are applicable in the classroom and then seek our professional development opportunities to learn those new tools to bring into your classroom.
    2. Attend seminars and trainings
      1. A great way to learn new skills as well as what is currently happening in the world of education. These could be opportunities to network or learn new ideas that you can bring back to your class and your school.
    3. Use RSS feeds
      1. This is a great way to collect articles and follow organizations or contributors that you know are relevant to your field. It gives you the flexibility to catch up when you have time.
    4. Utilize new social medias
      1. This is a way to stay abreast of trends in education and learn what is buzzing in the world of education. The speed of social media means that you can learn about new research, methodologies, and opinions instantly.
  3. Improve Myself with Work/Life Balance
    1. Grow a community
      1. Starting in a new school will undoubtably be challenging and I think developing a sense of community in your new neighborhood and with the new people around you would help ease the transistion into a new career and possible a new location.
    2. Strive for excellence
      1. I want to establish a reputation for myself with my colleagues, my students, their parents, and the administration for excelling at my job and contributing to the future success of my students. Teacher is not an easy job and it takes real drive and dedication to reach my goal of playing a role in shaping my students knowledge.
    3. Travel
      1. Teaching can be a very personally draining career, we give a lot of ourselves to our students! I think some of the most successful teachers are those that know how to recharge and re-energize themselves. Teaching is somewhat unique in the vacation that it affords that would allow for a passion of mine, travel, which would only make me a more enthused and global teacher.
    4. Get my masters degree
      1. Obtaining my masters degree will help me stay relevant in my career and besides allowing me to hone my skills as an educator, it would afford me more opportunities in the work force with additional pay benefits.
  4. Involve My Fellow Teachers
    1. Be active in school organization
      1. I will try to attend meeting like PTA, teachers union, school board or other organization that directly impact my position and my relationships in your career. It will be important to build those relationships and know what is happening in my school.
    2. Use google docs
      1. Encourage teachers to use this file sharing forum to gather feedback and suggestions on new lesson plans, share documents like letters home to parents, post excel sheets to track each others schedules. This tool os most valuable if you can get all teachers to use it and contribute.
    3. Create forums for your campus
      1. This could be a virtual bulletin board for teachers and staff at my school that would help someone me integrated as well as aid in collaboration. It could include personal development classes, volunteer opportunities, requests to change duties, ride share, etc.
    4. Find colleagues that are friends
      1. I am a very social and extroverted person and I am looking forward to developing relationships with my fellow educators and knowing them outside of the campus. I think a sense of collaboration and teamwork can be made stronger by sharing aspects of of your personal life such as family, hobbies, interests, etc.
